Commencing inside the 1850s, the Capitol needed to grow to produce home for these new Associates and senators. The initial significant development project extended both of those wings and enlarged the Capitol Dome.Building proceeded with Hallet Doing work beneath supervision of James Hoban, who was also chaotic engaged on design in the "President's
